BrainBack to Brain

Current Mac beta · November 6, 2026

Your meeting data.

Recording and notes

Brain records audio using the access you grant on your Mac and transcribes it locally with a bundled model. Recordings, transcripts, meeting metadata and generated notes are stored on that Mac. System audio capture may include other applications playing audio. The recording indicator and Stop control remain visible.

Chrome companion

The extension runs on Google Meet pages. It reads the meeting code from the page URL, joined/left/reconnecting state, meeting title and visible participant names. It creates a random local identifier for the Chrome profile and uses a tab identifier to keep calls separate. It shares these details with Brain through the dedicated folder you allow. It reads Brain's current capture status to show connection and recording state.

The extension does not record audio or video. It does not read Meet chat, captions or transcripts. It uses local browser storage for its profile identifier and IndexedDB for the connection-folder permission handle.

External services and export

The current Mac beta sends no meeting content to an external transcription provider or agent. If you choose an export folder, Brain writes the selected note there. Your folder provider may then synchronize that exported file according to your configuration. App and extension distribution services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Your controls

You can disable automatic Meet recording, stop capture and remove the companion. Revoke its folder access in Chrome to disconnect it. Remove a meeting from its review. Deleted recordings may remain in local recovery storage. Exported copies remain under your control in their destination folder. Microphone and screen/system-audio permissions can be managed in macOS System Settings.
